Rules
1. All models should be completed before attending Wyndham Brickfest 2022 using the bricks you own or can borrow. Wyndham Brickfest will not supply bricks or baseplates for your model.
2. There are four categories of competition entry:
I. 12 and under.
II. 17 and under.
III. Adult/Open – For adults or any children who feel their model can compete against an adult builder.
IV. Large Display/Open – For all large model displays and models which do not meet the size restrictions of the other categories (see rule 6).
3. The model needs to be entered into the correct category based on model size and the appropriate school being attended or age of the builder. A builder who is 18 but attending Secondary School is considered an Adult for the purposes of Wyndham Brickfest.
4. Where there is more than one builder for a model the eldest builder’s age determines the category the model goes into.
5. A model can only be entered into one category.
6. Models built for the 12 and under, 17 and under and Adult/Open categories must be contained so they would fit on one 32x32 stud baseplate (see below).
7. Models built for the Large Display/Open category can be any size with consideration for the number of tables it will require to support it.
8. Models too large for the Primary, Secondary and Adult/Open categories will be placed into the Large Display/Open Category regardless of the builder’s age.
9. Each builder can enter a total of two models into Wyndham Brickfest in either their age category or an Open category, any further builds will be considered a Large Display/Open entry and displayed as one model.
10. Each build will be provided two entry tickets per day regardless of the number of builders
11. Models in each category will be subject to two voting rounds.
I. People’s Choice Voting – Patrons attending Wyndham Brickfest will be asked to vote on their favourite model in each category. The Model with the most votes (First past the post voting) at the conclusion of Wyndham Brickfest will be declared the winner. In the case of a tied vote the President of Wyndham Brickfest will have a casting vote.
II. Committee Award – Members of the Brickfest Committee will vote on their preferred model. The winner of the Committee Award will be based upon technical ability, effort by the builder and age of the builder will be considered. Voting by committee members will be an exhaustive preferential system. A winner of the People’s Choice Voting cannot win the Committee Award.
III. Further voting rounds may be considered including but not limited to special guest awards and prizes.
12. My, this is a long list isn’t it?
